Interestingly , my recent article awaiting publication-I hope-about RSE in the school curriculum and the sexualisation of young children , has a section in it on the theme of God is our maker-we don't get to decide who we are, that has already been decided for us. My source speaks of man trying to be God and as you point out desperately searching for himself and trying fill the void in many different ways.
Your explanation and question of Namaste' takes away from the honoring that is inherent in the word and action. Who says "We refuse to bow to the supranatural Being who created the universe and all life"? Just because we honor the God in you? Do you believe there is separation, God is some far away deity? The word "religiosity" is a thud to me. Too small a focus for a wide and wonderful multitudinous expression of Spirit that encompasses the world in various ways. Read what hospice workers say about death and dying and your vision will be increased a thousand fold. You seem to have a lot to learn about the metaphysical world. Dr. Robert Malone certainly has a wide vision, more than he lets on...
Some atheist/agnostic people who reject the idea of God and go as far as ridicule people who bow to the creator, turn around a practice yoga and bow to other things in order to fill their built-in, inherent need for spirituality.
We do seem to be hard wired for the transcendent. The question is then which transcendent? Which religion is true? They can’t all be.
I believe that Jesus is the Truth, as he claimed to be, and thus Christianity, with its Jewish roots, is the true religion.
JudaeoXn religious belief is the only place where God is personal, and loves his creation, and loves each of us personally.
Moreover, I find it very interesting that even people from non-personal (pantheistic) religious backgrounds, when they have a near death experience, feel personally loved by a divine person.
Recently came across ID the Future. Great podcast (or whatever one wants to call it). Very thought provoking. And coincidentally, some of their presentations/discussions are at a university right down the street from me. Hope to be able to make it to one sooner or later.
